The Technical System Associates TSSAP Series Model 14732 3' Antenna and Pedestal System consists of a single-axis antenna pedestal coupled with a CSC2 antenna and C-band feed. The pedestal can be positioned in azimuth by an external controller with accuracy to within 0.1°. The externally controlled pedestal is equipped with a pulse width modulated servo drive system and power supply. This pedestla is capable of rotating CW or CCW via a specially designed, low backlash, custom designed gear train. The rotating velocity of the pedestal is designed to meet specific requirements. Electrical signals are routed through the pedestal via a slip ring package designed for superior conductivity.
The vertically polarized antenna used with the pedestal system is a CSC2 reflector type antenna with a C-Band dual feed. This antenna operates in the 5.10 to 5.90 gHz frequency range and has a minimum power handling capability of 40 watts CW. Other frequencies are available. The three foot diameter CSC2 elevation, pencil beam azimuth antenna provides auto-track capability over wide elevation ranges with the single-axis pedestal. The reflector is a doubly curved reflector designed to give CSC2 radiation in the elevation plane while giving pencil beam performance in azimuth. An jack mechanism is provided allowing a minimum of +/-5° adjustment in the elevation plane. The RF outputs are configured with Type "N" Connectors. Other connectors and mounting configurations are available.
